'The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death' is cliched to the core
'The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death' has hit the screens on January 1, 2015. The film directed by Tom Harper is touted to be a super natural horror thriller. But after its release, the film started garnering mixed to negative reviews, and is ending up as an average grosser in the Box Office. As of now, the film has grossed $ 24 million from the theaters.
One of the main drawback of 'The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death' is its cliched story line. The movie takes place in the backdrop of the dreaded World War II. A group of children evacuated from World War II reach London, and they gets occupied in the haunted Eel Marsh house. The entry of students wakes up the dark forces in the house, and what follows next is some unbelievable incidents which are quite hard for the human brain to explain.
The director has tried his best to evoke some fear in the minds of the viewer. But a weak screenplay spoiled all his efforts, and most of the scenes seemed too dramatic in nature.
The only highlight of this movie is the performance from lead actors. The acting department which comprised of some children did an impeccable job. The cinematography is also excellent, but with a weak screenplay, all these efforts went in vain.
You can watch, 'The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death' if you are an ardent fan of horror movies, or else stay away.
