Even Johnny Depp fans will hate 'Mortdecai'
Johnny Depp is always the man of masses, and he has millions of fans in all corners of the world. His recent acting venture, 'Mortdecai' hit the theaters on January 23rd 2015. This David Koepp directorial has been receiving highly negative reviews from the date of its release, and it is slowly emerging as one of the most unexpected disasters in the career of Johnny. The film failed to impress all kinds of audience, and it is probably one of those rare Johnny Depp movies which will pull you to a state of boredom.
Rotten Tomatoes ratings are widely considered as a bench mark in determining the quality of movies. 'Mortdecai' has just 12% positive reviews, and this clearly indicates the mediocre nature of this film. The Huffington Post criticized 'Mortdecai' in a worst manner. “Mortdecai seems destined to be rated as the worst film of 2015, and deservedly so”, stated the reviewer. The film is also going weak in the box office, and as of now, it has collected 10 million USD from theaters.
The movie showcases the story of Charlie Mortdecai, a British aristocrat who finds it hard to manage the funds for his luxurious living. At this juncture, he accepts the offer of Mi5 officer of Alistair Maitland. Now, the primary job of Mortdecai is to find a stolen Goya painting.
Johnny Depp was seen struggling while portraying the title character. The direction and screenplay of this movie is pathetic, and there is not even one moment of thrill or entertainment. “Mortdecai is an avoidable flick, and if you have already book the tickets, then you are going to face some tough time ahead”.
